Healthy Snack Ideas
My biggest motivation for eating healthy is the way it makes me feel. Looking good in a swimsuit used to be my priority but now it has shifted to how it makes me feel when I take care of myself.
Now that I am in my 40s, my body does not feel great if I am not fueling it with foods that make me feel my best. I don’t follow a diet but I have a healthy eating framework that works well for me. I make sure the majority of my diet consists of protein (these are my favorite ways to get more protein), tons of vegetables, healthy fats, and I try to avoid processed foods as much as possible.

Just because I like to eat healthy most of the time, does not mean I am above snacking on chips, candy, or baked treats. I have learned that I need to allow some treats into my life or else I will binge on them when I get the chance. I proved this to myself when I gave up sugar for my birthday. I attempted to give it up for an entire year but I only made it 3 months. You can read all about my experience here.
To help you navigate your snack food cravings, I put together a list of some of my favorite, healthier for you treats.
I order most of my treats from Thrive Market. They have awesome customer service, they will price match, and I love their selection of items. Thrive Market is my go to for healthier treats sent straight to your door. Click here to get 40% off of your first order.
Chips
I love chips. They are one of my favorite treats and I have them a couple of times a week. When looking for chips that are healthier for you, make sure you pick chips made with avocado or coconut oil. Also, pay attention to serving sizes! It is very easy to eat an entire family sized bag of chips in one setting.

Candy
Chips and candy are my two favorite treats. I make room for either chips or candy in my life on most days. I have a tendency to overeat candy (I will eat it until my stomach hurts like I am a child) so I limit my portions of it. When I do have candy, I usually opt for dark chocolate instead of gummy candy because I am less likely to overeat dark chocolate than gummy candy.

Baked Goods
Your best bet is always to make them yourself. I have found a lot of my favorite recipes from Pinterest. If you search “Paleo Baked Goods” you will find a lot of great options. I am also including my favorite boxed mixes for baked goods in case you don’t feel like baking.

There you have it! Proof that living a healthy lifestyle does not have to be boring. Now a word of caution, just because these treats are better for you than traditional treats, does not give you a free pass to eat them all the time. They are meant to be consumed in moderation 🙂
Happy Snacking!
